As a former self-confessed busy person, Ange turned to yoga as a way of slowing down and creating more space for herself. The added benefits of flexibility, strength, mindfulness and breath control? Well, they were a bonus. Ange now draws on her experience for her own classes, inviting members into a safe and warm space where they can find balance, have fun, become strong, push boundaries and feel content. The best part: you’ll always leave Ange’s classes having learned something about yourself.
Carnie has a lifelong love of form, focused movement and flow. With a strong background in dance, she spent time overseas dancing and training, before returning to Australia with a passion to teach others. That’s where Pilates and barre come in. Carnie’s classes will challenge you, in the best possible way — they’re all about stamina, stability and just the right amount of shake and burn. Expect an energetic flow that seems to speed up the class, and leaves you feeling a sense of achievement that will have you coming back for more.
As a mat and reformer Pilates instructor, Emily’s motivation is ‘moving to make your body feel good’. It’s a simple ethos, but a very effective one. She believes in the power of strong and considered movement, and its positive impact on our health and happiness. This method is at the core of Em’s classes, brought to life with her empowering energy, candid approach and concise cueing. In every session, Em will make sure you get the most out of every movement, you feel the burn, and you don’t take yourself too seriously.
Georgie’s motto: why conquer one thing, when you can crush five? Pilates and fitness instructor, corporate executive, athlete, coach and now, CorePlus Connected Online Instructor. She clearly likes to keep busy, and the same can be said for classes, too. They’re jam-packed, energetic and will leave you feeling accomplished (and needing a rest). Georgie draws on all of her experience to create the ultimate sequences, packed with precision, knowledge, encouragement and flow.
Jayne has always moved to feel good. Her fitness journey began as a competitive ice skater and coach in the US. Next? She taught Latin and ballroom dancing. As if that wasn’t enough, she went on to discover aerial silks, eventually being scouted by Cirque de Soleil. Although an injury interrupted her plans, it taught her unbreakable resilience, and led her to Pilates. In every class, Jayne celebrates the physical and mental power of movement, blending strength, stability and flexibility to leave you feeling empowered.
One day, Karina had a corporate career in the fashion industry. The next? She was working as a Pilates instructor for CorePlus, renowned for her juicy (aka, burn-inducing) classes. After following her passion towards health and fitness, Karina became a regular at CorePlus Malvern, using Pilates as a way to keep her mind and body in shape after having a baby. Affectionately referred to as ‘Killer Karina’, you’ll develop a love/hate relationship — but mostly love. She’ll leave you feeling strong, sweaty and accomplished.
Maddi attended her first Pilates class in 2016, while studying acting in New York — she instantly fell in love with the burn, the mindfulness and the way it made her body feel afterwards. Eventually, Maddi returned to Melbourne and joined CorePlus, falling further in love with Pilates. But in a fateful turn of events, she was encouraged by founder Amy King to undergo her teacher training and is now a much-loved instructor, and the Manager of CorePlus Richmond, our flagship studio. A natural performer, Maddi’s classes are full of personality, energy, music and good vibes.
Romy’s classes are magic — literally. At 18, Romy moved to New York to join the world’s largest youth circus. It was here she met a young magician, and for the next 10 years traveling the world performing her original magic effects on stage and TV. Now, Romy brings the feeling of magic into the studio with heart racing classes, invigorating flows and an open invitation to take a chance on attempting the more challenging yoga poses. Her no-nonsense approach to yoga blends her light-hearted attention to detail with feel-good sequencing, making her a much-loved instructor of the yoga-curious and the more advanced.
Sammy wasn’t always a yoga instructor. He was a not-for-profit community worker, but like so many, his world changed when he became immersed in the practice. After realising the mental and physical benefits, he went onto complete his training. These days, Sammy takes pride in creating a light-hearted, relaxed and safe environment where members can learn and explore. In every class, he invokes those same qualities of union and growth that lured him deeper into the practice.
Growing up competing in sports and marathons, Sarah discovered yoga only after moving to Australia from the States. Yoga gave her something other forms of exercise couldn’t: a type of movement that felt sustainable, an opportunity to connect her body with breath, and a space to show up exactly as she felt that day. Sarah’s classes are famous for all the good things: infectious energy, thoughtful teaching and intelligent sequencing. Booking into her class? Expect to be encouraged, to explore and to have fun.
